Problem & first constraints

Everything starts during a discussion with my coach after regarding ability and importance of quality shuttlecock distribution to train on proper basis.

  • For a beginner, it is hard to master distribution, especially technical skills to handle and properly strike the shuttlecock.
    Results are oftenly poor playing proposal, jerky rythm and finally inefficiency. And what to think with youngest...
  • For high level players, efficient distribution is not a real problem, but available solutions come with other difficulties :
    - robots : electricity is needed through long ropes, broken parts, breakdowns, maintenance delays, set-up
    - tube : limited versatility...
  • For trainer, the best solution is to distribute himself shuttlecock, but with the consequence of inability to monitor a group.

Helper seems an evidence...
What about a holder station where shuttlecocks are ready to be distributed ?

Certainly yes, but other important points have to be considered : versatility for a wide range of usage, quick set-up to avoid waste of time, robustness, safety of usage, transportation and storage...
and many more !

Proof of concept : cheap but enough for the job !

Proof of concept

To turn lyrics into reality, I quickly build a proof of concept, and we test it in various situation and different kind of trainees : adult, children, beginners and more experimented players.

Success, even if lot of waitings are not solved...
But the way is opened ;-)

Prototypes

The next step was the design and production of a (in fact many) prototype(s) of the ideal product.

Test have been realized one year long
to find appropriate answers to needs and correct balance between options.
